Ray McVeigh was enlisted into The Professionals by Steve Jones & Paul Cook in late 1980, to augment Steve's fearsome guitar. Along with bassist Paul Myers, Ray would go on to record the band's classic "I Didn't See It Coming" album and help cement their formidable live sound. Ray speaks exclusively to Kick Down The Doors. 9th December
As stated on the news page (20th November), Steve Jones' football team, Hollywood United, are featured on Vinnie (episode no.19), BBC 3 tonight at 11.30pm.

20th November
The BBC3 series Vinnie has focused for the past two weeks on Vinnie Jones' trip to Hawaii to film The Big Bounce. The episdes have also included Steve Jones in good humour, as well as Hollywood United coach, Ian Carrington. Forthcoming episode no.19 featuues Hollywood United in action. Vinnie is shown on BBC3: Tuesday 11.30pm and repeated Sunday night/ Mon morning 2.10am

Steve has been working with US band The Automatics.

16th November

A Steve Jones Les Paul guitar is currently for sale on ebay.

The new DVD Hooligans and Thugs featuring narration by Steve Jones, is selling well. The DVD is an extended and reworked version of the Hooligans video, with additional newly recorded narration by Steve dressed as a copper!

2nd November - Important Announcement
Billy Morrison has been in touch with the site regarding Steve's advertised appearance with Camp Freddy at the Avalon Hollywood, November 15. Billy, (who is behind the Camp Freddy project) wishes to point out that Steve is NOT a confirmed artist for the show. Steve is on the "maybe" list, due to other commitments during November. It's a loose arrangement, and if Steve is around on the 15th, he may play with the group. Unfortunately, someone got excited and put Steve's name on the adverts!

Mascara, the 1999 movie Steve co-starred in with Amanda De Cadenet and Ione Skye, is being released on DVD on November 18th (US Region 1). [ackn. Jade].

Paul Cook attended last night's Dead Men Walking show at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. Mick Jones (The Clash), and Steve English (Sex Pistols 1970s security), were also there to witness Glen Matlock and fellow DMW musicians in action.

UK & US punk guitar legends have lunch together! Steve Jones and Johnny Ramone shared lunch in LA a couple of weeks ago! [thanks Slim Jim Phantom for info].

The Steve produced Violent Delight single, Transmission is now due for release on 1st September. The band's debut album, also titled Transmission, follows on 15th September.

Steve told Kick Down The Doors "I wouldn't mind doing a solo album next year. Just for the hell of it. I don't care if it sells 10 copies. I'm just in the mood to put out another album."

The Steve produced Violent Delight single, Transmission is released on 25th August. The band's debut album follows on 15th September (produced by Steve and Dave Chavarri from Ill Nino).

Copies of the vinyl LP The Professionals (Ltd Edition Records), originally released in 1990, have surfaced on white vinyl. They are believed to be recent repressings.

16th May
The June edition of Total Guitar contains an interview with Violent Delight in which they blame Steve for encouraging them to write kinky lyrics.[thanks to Martyn]

4th April
Edwyn Collins' CD "Doctor Syntax" featuring Paul, released last year in the UK on Setanta Records (see discography), has now been given a US release on Instinct Records - INS 616-2.[info Eliot Wien]

31st March
The Steve interview conducted by Kick Down the Doors last year, has been translated into German for issue 11 of Wanker Fanzine.

22nd March
Steve is appearing on the forthcoming album by Ashley Hamilton, who has recently signed a record deal with Sony. (Ashley is the stepson of Rod Stewart from his marriage to Alana Hamilton). The album is preceeded by a single, Wimmin, released on May 26. Other musicians appearing on the album include Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

6th March
Steve's acting career continues with an appearance in the forthcoming movie, The Big Bounce, along with Vinnie Jones, Owen Wilson and Morgan Freeman.

8th February
The new footage has now been cut together for the Hooligans DVD. Steve will be recording his new narration at the end of February.

21st January 2003
Steve can be seen backstage with Billy Duffy and The Cult,on their new live DVD, Music Without Fear. Plus, the track My Bridges Burn is, as Ian Astbury puts it, "For Mr Steve Jones" (Warner Music Vision. Cat No.Number: 0927469892).[thanks to Martyn]
