Steve's second session for The Nothings new album will take place on 4th November.
27th
October
The forthcoming release of "I Didn't See It Coming-plus singles" on
EMI now seems a certainty. Scheduled for 2001, the CD will include the
same tracks as the bootleg ( Vinyl Virgin Masters) first reported on "Kick
Down The Doors" on 4th May, which proved to be the origin of the idea.
It is also planned to include CD-ROM videos of The Professionals promos
("Just Another Dream" & the unseen "1-2-3" & "Join The Professionals"),
plus The Greedies appearance on "Will Kenny Everett Make It To 1980?".

Steve will be appearing on a further two tracks on The Nothings album, "Lovely".
Tracks are "Talk Behind Your Back" and "Addicted Too". Steve
will therefore be contributing to six tracks on the album. Recording
will take place within the next two weeks.

"Never Mind The Bollocks" has re-entered the UK album charts at no. 20
today!

September
Steve will be appearing on 4 tracks on The Nothings' album
"Lovely"; "That Girl's A Slut", "I Can't Dance", "The End", &
"We're All Gonna Die". Steve's guitar parts were all completed yesterday
as planned. The Nothings have also recorded a version of Steve & Paul's
"Lonely Boy", for possible inclusion on the album.
Steve will be putting
in a guest appearance with the Stone Temple Pilots; Thursday-Nov-09
Los Angeles, CA, Universal Amphitheater.

Steve is in the studio today recording guitar parts for "Lovely", the
forthcoming Nothings album.
The Toilet Boys
have been dropped from their label, so Steve's production work with the band
will not materialise until the situation changes.

The Nothings forthcoming new album will be titled "Lovely". Steve WILL
be guesting. The proposed track listing is as follows:

The "I Didn't See It Coming (plus singles)" CD (Vinyl Virgin Masters),
seen for sale on EBay is now confirmed as a high quality CD bootleg with a
high quality cover to match. Info from Rich T.
However, the announcement
on "Kick Down The Doors" (thanks Doug) has started a chain of events with
the idea under serious consideration by EMI Gold, having been rejected by
Virgin.

"I
Love 1977", shown on BBC 2 tonight featured interviews with Glen Matlock,
Malcolm McLaren and Julien Temple, alongside clips from both "Swindle" and
"The Filth & The Fury".
"The Filth & The
Fury" is released on DVD/video in the UK on 11th September.

The Nothings begin recording their new album on 16th September in California.
Steve Jones has agreed to guest on the record.

Steve's first post Professionals group get their album finally re-released
on CD on September 4th. The self-titled "Chequered Past" will be on
Zoom Club Records ZCRCD40.

The movie "Ladies & Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains"
featuring Steve & Paul, (see
"The Swindle Years"), is now due for release on video
in the US in November, having been delayed from 1998.

NME dated 5th August reports that Paul Cook was present at Alan McGee's
Poptones night at the Notting Hill Art Club. Others present included Brix
Smith & Happy Monday's manager Nathan McGough.

Steve is currently working with US group The Toilet Boys.
American Pearl,
have their self-titled debut album released on 22nd August on Wind-Up Records.

According to the NME (dated 1st July), Steve was seen at the Contempo gig
in Camden with Glen Matlock. Don't believe what you read, Glen was with Mick
"The Clash" Jones who has been working with Contempo!

NME dated 1st July stated that Glen Matlock & Steve Jones were
seen pogoing at the Contempo gig in Campden, London.

Steve will be performing live with The Usual Suspects tomorrow night
(19th) at the Scream Club in Hollywood.

The Steve Jones narrated soccer violence video "Hooligans - The Video",
is due for release in July on Stanley
Video.
NME dated 17th June "...Steve
Jones joined Primal Scream onstage last week (June 9) at the House
Of Blues in Los Angeles.
Jones joined in for 'Accelerator' from their current album 'Exterminator'
and for a cover of the MC5's 'Kick Out The Jams' during the band's
second encore.
Jones then came out for a third and final encore where they charged through
The Stooges' 'No Fun'..."

The Steve Jones "Sticks And Stones" compilation CD will feature the
Pistols, rare 7" (including Professionals), Andy Taylor live, Iggy Pop studio
(previously released), and unreleased live Steve recordings.

Paul & Steve attended the UK premiere of "The Filth And The Fury"
on May 2nd, in London.
According to both The Sun & The Daily Star (4th May), Steve stunned guests
at the launch party... by peeing out of a first floor pub window - without
checking if anyone was below!
Paul & Julien
Temple are interviewed in NME (6th May). Melody Maker (3-9 May) has an
interview with Johnny. Record Collector (May) also has an interview
with Julien Temple.
Rumours
of a new Steve album for this year titled, "Sticks And Stones".
Details have yet to be confirmed, although it appears to be a "Best of..."
covering Steve's work from the Pistols through Sham, Professionals etc., though
to his later recordings.
Also, a new edition of
"I Didn't See It Coming", including all the singles plus The Greedies
& the "Here We Go Again/Black Leather" Pistols rarity is on the slate

Paul could be seen drumming for Edwyn Collins on "TOTP 2", (26th
April), on BBC 2. The performance of "A Girl Like You" from 1995, can be seen
again on 29th April when "TOTP 2" is repeated, 4.35pm.

Both Steve and Paul, along with John Lydon, are rumoured to
be attending the UK premiere of "The Filth And The Fury" on 2nd May at The
Screen on The Green, Islington, London.

Steve is producing US group American Pearl.
Soundtrack album (double
CD) for "The Filth And The Fury" movie is released 8th May, (Virgin in UK;
Rhino in US).Features mixture of previously released studio tracks, plus non
- Pistols tracks from the era.

Today's "The Independent On Sunday" (UK) carries a feature "Never Mind The
Biopics".The article is by early Pistols tour manager Nils Stevenson (pictures
by Ray Stevenson). Quote: "Everybody seemed to be shagging everybody, particularly
Steve Jones". Steve is further described as "the nob on legs."

Paul Cook attended
a Press screening of THE FILTH & THE FURY! in London on the 15th February.
Also in attendance were Laim Gallagher accompanied by fellow Oasis members
Gem Archer and Andy Bell.
Other stars included,
Mew and Paul from Elastica, Kevin Rowland, ex-Three Colours Red Chris McCormack,
Tony Barber from The Buzzcocks, Hugh Cornwell from The Strangers, Nick Forbes
from the Revillos and Ed Tudor Pole.

The Nothings guitarist Phil Holmes, confirmed yesterday on Rotten
Radio that he is hoping to go into the studio again in the near future
with Steve Jones.
The US release of THE
FILTH & THE FURY! has been confirmed as; March 29 NY, April 21 LA, April
28 Nationwide.
The UK release date is
currently set for12th May.

The great Mel C mystery....Doubt has recently been cast over whether
or not Steve played on Mel C's album "Northern Star". Both Jones' management
& Mel C have stated that Steve DID play on the album. Steve however has
allegedly said he did NOT! More info as/when it comes to light..........

"Vinnie puts the boot in."
Vinnie Jones may be a Hollywood actor now but he still enjoys a Sunday afternoon
kick-about.
The former Wimbledon star has joined the Exiles, a team of LA-based ex-pats
including Rod Stewart, ex-Sex Pistol Steve Jones and former Clash singer
Joe Strummer.
Vinnie told Attitude magazine: "The whole worth of the players is about
a billion dollars an' we was playing on this old mingin' pitch.
They could all chip in a bit and buy a stadium to train in."

Channel 4's planned Sid Vicious evening would now appear to have undergone
a change.
On Saturday 4th February, Channel 4 have a "Punk" show in their "Top
10" series (9.00- 10.30PM).
On Tuesday 8th February, Channel 4 are showing "Sid And Nancy" (11.20PM
-1.25).

January
The
Pistols movie "The Filth And The Fury!", is being premiered at
the Sundance Festival this week, in Park City, Utah. John Lydon
is expected to attend. The press preview took place on 17th January in
London. Channel 4 are planning a Sid Vicious evening for February.
A 30 track double CD
will accompany "The Filth And The Fury!" 20 tracks by the Pistols, 10 by various
artists.Due for release in May.

The "Young Guns (Go For It!)" series (previously
shown on BBC2 TV) is repeated on the UK digital channel UK Arena, 22nd
January. Paul Cook & Professionals are featured in the profile of
Bananarama.
